Door Builder

The Door Builder is responsible for receiving, building, packaging, and shipping pre-hung doors and other building products. The door builder must operate within product/safety standards, policies, and procedures. Working together with the Door Shop Manager, other warehouse staff, administrative and sales staff. Communicates progress of scheduled production runs and output, storage of raw material, packaging and finished goods. This is a temp-to-hire position.
Shift: Monday - Friday, 7 am - 4 pm, OT as needed
Compensation: $20 hr
Location: Fife, WA
Responsibilities:
Be responsible for keeping equipment in good working order. Report malfunctions to Management for correct active
Use your Safety Committee Team member or Human Resources to report any near misses, accidents or illnesses promptly, or for advice in rectifying a potentially unsafe condition or practice
Unload inbound vendor trucks promptly and without causing material damage, in the order of arrival into the facility. Bring all damaged inventory to the attention of Management
Build customer orders from inventory accurately, without damaging the material, and in a timely fashion so that deliveries can be made as promised to customers.
Carefully count and record material quantities loaded on shipping documents.
Load trucks in a fashion that will accommodate easy unloading at each destination and minimize re-handling and damage to materials.
Pull and package for shipment, assist truck drivers in tying down and tarping outbound shipments
Properly store merchandise in it’s designated area immediately upon arrival at the warehouse
Attend meetings when requested (safety meetings, warehouse meetings, sales meetings, etc.)
Verify quantities and product descriptions of all merchandise being received into and/or shipped out of the warehouse
Prepare bill of lading and other necessary paperwork required by carriers
Any an all other assignments as requested by Management
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Skill in safely operating designated forklifts and other vehicles. Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs consistently
Ability to communicate effectively and work independently
Maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, customers and the general public
Punctual, reliable, and independent worker
Ability to read and interpret general documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Observe and abide by all company policies, procedures, goals and objectives
