Staff Tax Accountant

CPA Firm seeks Tax Preparer to learn and grow in the accounting field.
You will be responsible for the preparation of business tax returns for sole proprietors, single-member LLCs, partnership returns (1065), and corporations (C & S Corps). You will be working directly with the CPA/CEO and bookkeepers.
This position is perfect for a Tax Preparer looking to learn and grow their Accounting Career. This is not a seasonal position, this is for someone looking for a stable role in a business that continues to grow. This role can be for tax professionals who want to expand their experience in tax preparation or a seasoned preparer who is ready for the leap in their career.
To qualify for this position you must have experience in the following:
Taxation Experience, not limited to:
Preparation of 1040 Personal Income Tax Returns
Preparation of Schedule C Form under the Accrual Method of Accounting
Preparation of Schedule E Forms
Preparation and Upkeep of Depreciation Schedules
Capital Gains Tax Returns, Schedule D, and 8949 Forms
Bookkeeping Experience, not limited to:
Bank and Credit Card Reconciliation
Preparation of Journal Entries
Prepare Financial Statements such as P&Ls, B/S, and Cash Flow
Experience in Business Bookkeeping
Computer Experience:
Microsoft Excel-Intermediate
Microsoft Office, Word, Teams, and SharePoint
Quickbooks Online
Quickbooks Desktop
Intuit Pro-Series, Pro-connect, or other similar tax prep software experience
Education Requirements:
Must have taken and passed an approved Tax Preparation Course
A Minimum of an Associate’s Degree, or other relevant course certification in accounting
Must have a minimum knowledge and background in bookkeeping and accounting of two years
Other Requirements:
Ability to effectively communicate in both English & Spanish Written and Oral
Must be able to problem-solve, work independently, and be a team player
Must possess strong Interpersonal and Customer Service / Telephone Skills
Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Must have organization skills and a can-do attitude
Must have strong Customer Service Skills
This position is in an office, not remote; your working hours will be Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Saturdays are required from Jan to May 1st. We are a friendly, teaching firm. The pay rate starts between $18-$25 per hour, based on experience. Our firm offers overtime, bonuses, benefits, vacation, and 401K.
Compensation will be based on experience; you will be tested before the interview, and you will have a training period to demonstrate your experience hands-on. This will be the final step in your complete hiring process.
