Contrast Metal Works, is a family-owned business based in Montgomery Co. Pa, we service Philadelphia and surrounding counties. We are currently seeking experienced steel erector to join our team.

As an erector, you will play a crucial role in the construction and installation of structural steel components. This is a physically demanding position that requires strong technical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

- Must be able to pass a drug test.
- Completes daily task and meet deadlines on a regular basis.
- Able to problem solve when difficult situations or conditions eliminate "typical" scenario.
- Able to work in a safe manner and preclude injury to self and coworkers.
- Provides professional and error free workmanship.
- Arrives to job site at appointed time and accommodates additional work time as necessary.
- Follows supervisors' direction and correctly completes job tasks without close supervision.
- Ability to correct wrongly fabricated steel as per plan or needed field adjustment on site during erection process (re-layout, bolt clips, torch cut flanges for block outs etc.)
- Knowledge on how to operate and maintain the following equipment: band saw, oxy/propylene torch, mig box welder, lull, forklift, gas drive welder, torch gun, demo saw, Hilti nail gun, rigging (tree/bull whip).
- Able to perform proper crane signals when radios are absent, or obstructions hinder direct line of sight.

- Clearly Communicating between connectors, self and operators

Skills:

- Position may require, prolonged bending/twisting, walking, crawling, kneeling, reaching overhead, squatting, pushing/pulling, or standing and lifting.

- Climb ladders, stairways', and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection equipment.

- Able to perform all acts of connecting (bolt up, guying a structure)

- Must be able to climb, and work in elevations (80ft) and maintain balance.

- Able to safely and correctly rig structural steel members.

- Need to be able to erect structural steel.
- Understand all aspects of job and has the ability to spot conceptual problems that may become a problem if not addressed in a timely manner.
- Efficiently read and understand erection blueprints and detail sheets.
- Ability to communicate (verbally and/or written) with supervisor and team members.

- Cooperative working relationship with the managers, employees and client.
- Basic math skills for layout and fabrication purposes. (Add, Subtract fractions down to 1/16")

- Will be exposed to adverse weather conditions (wind, heat, cold etc.) While wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
