5th Grade Teacher

POSITION SUMMARY

Middle School consists of grades 5-8. Each teacher provides an engaging and developmentally appropriate educational experience in his/her assigned class of approximately 16 students. The teacher is responsible for teaching all content areas, using a

SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS

The ideal candidate will:

• Enjoy working with children and have an understanding of the developmental needs of children

• Be able to exercise classroom leadership as a facilitator of learning in whole group, small group, and individual settings

• Demonstrate energy, empathy, a good sense of humor, flexibility, and the ability to collaborate

• Understand basic technology skills - chromebooks, ipads, Google Suite, email, etc.

• Possess excellent communication skills - written and verbal, as well as organizational skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in MIddle or Elementary Education or related field required; Certification preferred

• Minimum three years' experience working with children

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Primarily indoor classroom teaching

• Occasional field trips

• Some evening and weekend commitments

• The ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time is required
