Overview:
As a Production/Industrial Designer at our event production and custom fabrication company, you'll play a crucial role in conceptualizing, designing, and bringing to life various elements for events, exhibitions, and experiences. You'll combine your creative flair with technical expertise to translate concepts into tangible, visually stunning, and functional designs. Your work will contribute to creating immersive environments and memorable experiences for our clients and their audiences.

Responsibilities:
1. Conceptualize and develop design proposals, sketches, and renderings for event spaces, stages, installations, props, and custom fabrication projects.
2. Collaborate closely with the creative team, project managers, and clients to understand project requirements, objectives, and constraints.
3. Conduct research on emerging trends, materials, and technologies relevant to event production and industrial design.
4. Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and production documents for fabrication and construction. Bonus if you have CNC knowledge.
5. Select appropriate materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes based on design requirements, budget, and timeline.
6. Oversee prototype development and production processes, ensuring quality, accuracy, and adherence to design intent.
7. Provide creative solutions to address technical challenges and optimize design feasibility.
8. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and fabricators to source materials and execute fabrication and installation.
9. Utilize design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), SketchUp, Rhino, or similar for 2D/3D modeling, rendering, and drafting.
10. Conduct on-site visits to supervise setup, troubleshoot issues, and ensure design integrity during production and event execution.
11. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop visual assets, presentations, and promotional materials showcasing our design capabilities and portfolio.

Qualifications:

1. Industrial Design, Product Design, Architecture, or related field.

2. Proven experience (X years) in production design, industrial design, or a related field, preferably in the events, exhibitions, or entertainment industry.

3. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), SketchUp, Rhino, or similar.

4. Strong conceptual and aesthetic sensibility with a keen eye for detail and craftsmanship.

5. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to diverse stakeholders.

6. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

7. Knowledge of fabrication techniques, materials, and manufacturing processes.

8. Experience with 3D modeling, prototyping, and digital fabrication tools is a plus.

9. Flexibility to travel and work on-site as needed for project installations and events.

10. Portfolio showcasing a range of design projects demonstrating creativity, technical proficiency, and problem-solving skills.
