INFINITEK are proud to be working with a company that possesses over 50 years experience in the transportation business. They are focused on bulk marine terminal operations, and capable of handling all transportation logistics from the marine terminal gateway to inland facilities and destinations around the world.
They are looking to hire an Industrial Electrician working in Savannah, GA who will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and components throughout the marine terminal facility. This includes electrical power, lighting, control systems, and specialized cargo handling equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, repair and maintain electrical wiring, conduits, motor control centers, control panels, switches, receptacles and other electrical components.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues with cargo handling equipment like ship loaders, conveyor systems, cranes, etc.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems per established PM schedules.
- Repair or replace failed electrical motors, drives, and related components.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes and safety regulations.
- May be required to work at heights, confined spaces, and other challenging environments.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, etc.
- Provide training and guidance to junior electricians as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent training/experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of industrial electrical experience, marine terminal experience preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical theory, codes, and safety practices
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
- Physical ability to work in industrial environments, at heights, lift equipment, etc.
- Basic computer skills for inputting work orders, referencing manuals, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with maritime/port cargo handling equipment.
- Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, control circuits and instrumentation
- Marine terminal operations or transportation experience
- Associates degree in Electrical Technology or related field
