We are seeking a full-time experienced Senior Accountant to support the controller and CFO with the company’s general accounting and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US GAAP and proficient computer skills including a thorough understanding of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented and analytical, have the ability to handle multiple tasks, set and meet deadlines, have strong verbal and written communication skills, and be a team player.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with monthly closing procedures including preparing journal entries for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and various liability accruals.
  • Review monthly sales tax calculations.
  • Prepare quarterly entries for partially completed network installation projects.
  • Assist in maintaining cash flow forecasts.
  • Work closely with the controller to prepare schedules for annual review and tax return preparation.
  • Assist controller with preparing schedules for foreign tax reporting.
  • Prepare various customer reporting and agent commissions calculations.
  • Assist with entering and reviewing daily cash transactions.
  • Reconcile cash, income & expenses to bank statements.
  • Post journal entries as requested by management and/or accounting firm.
  • Assist management with the creation and maintenance of budgets.
  • Communicate with financial institutions, insurers, and vendors regarding financial transactions.
  • Motivated to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with strong complimentary experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and advanced analytical and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with QuickBooks.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Exercises discretion and an ability to work independently.
  • Ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to analyze workload and prioritize tasks and assignments according to importance.
  • Ability to respond to email queries quickly and effectively.
  • Professional demeanor particularly with clients regarding billing and collections.

Candidate must be able to successfully perform the necessary responsibilities and functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. This position will function at SNA headquarters in Westwood, MA.
