Position Overview
The position is responsible for leading a crew with the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems. Knowledge of both commercial and residential project demands. Project set-up, understanding of blueprints, knowledge of Procore software, and schematics to implement needed electrical execution requirements. Able to troubleshoot electrical issues and potential problems and the ability to derive solutions.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Layout crew daily with deadline expectations.
- Read and decrypt blueprints, lighting diagrams, and drawings.
- Documents and follows project deliverables for repair and installation of piping, wiring, electrical components, and devices.
- Performs client walk-through to ensure project outline matches client’s expectations.
- Liaison between General Contractor and Project Manager.
- Performing inspections, conducting assessments, and liaising with clients to ascertain potential issues and appropriate solutions.
- Execute electrical installs in an efficient manner and timely basis.
- Direct, train, and lead electrical interns where appropriate.
- Participate in product meetings, seminars, and training schools to enhance and maintain personal and product knowledge.
- Follows and updates knowledge of safety programs in conjunction with OSHA and State regulations.
- Looks for opportunities for improvement and added efficiency, including new processes and procedures.
- Provides a professional, friendly, and prompt service environment.
Skills / Requirements
- Knowledge of and familiarity with various types of electrical systems, tools, fixtures, and components.
- Ability to repair a variety of electrical issues with a full scope of tools and techniques
- Ability to interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
- Attention to detail, high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively and efficiently.
- Able to easily adapt to challenging work environments, change priorities, and maintain a high level of flexibility.
- Strong Customer Service skills
- Problem solver – Excellent critical thinking skills
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Must have some comprehension of computer skills including MS Office Suite
- OSHA Certified
Education/Experience
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Completion of relevant apprenticeship
- 5+ years of Commercial experience.
- 2 years of Supervisory leadership position.
- Electrical Journeyman License or equivalent experience
- Must be versed in OSHA safety requirements including the use of ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and platforms.
- Understanding of electrical industry tools including ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners, and cable testers.
- Commitment to continuous learning
