Job Title: Staff Accountant

Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and meticulous Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and a passion for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the financial health of our organization by performing a variety of accounting duties, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and compliance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Maintain the general ledger, including posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and collections management.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, monitoring expenditures and variances.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Prepare documentation and support external and internal audits.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
- Provide training and support to junior accounting staff and other team members as needed.
- Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices; familiarity with GAAP and other relevant standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and across departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
- Experience with advanced accounting software and ERP systems.
- Previous experience in Biotech or manufacturing industry.
