We are looking for a Inventory Manager to join our team, and enjoy a dynamic, collaborative culture. This role will allow you to engage with the many exciting facets of a flavor and ingredient manufacturer. The ideal individual will work hard and be results driven, but also have fun along the way.

 Summary:  The Inventory Manager will implement and maintain the inventory control system and ensure H.B. Taylor Co. has material needed to run production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Transferring and monitoring of raw material and finished good levels in and out of both Calumet City and Chicago locations.
  • Coordinating inventory balances, routing of products and transferring products between both facilities.
  • Developing and implementing warehouse configuration, racking and flow for our Chicago and Calumet City locations.
  •  Assisting Purchasing Manager and Customer Service with stock quantities by monitoring inventory levels based on shelf life and expiration dates from suppliers and internal HBT Quality team. Rectify and research any and all inventory discrepancies.
  •  Manage and maintain a Cycle Count program.
  • Monitoring and evaluating monthly inventory quantities and dollar balances for raw materials by customer as well as finished product.
  • Audit production batch tickets to maintain correct inventory levels.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has two direct report responsibilities.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within a manufacturing or distribution facility
  • Possess a detailed knowledge of enterprise resource planning, manufacturing planning, production scheduling, inventory control, material management planning, capacity requirements planning, and warehousing.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and also collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Problem solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, communication, and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and motivate teams within the plant environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains preferred (Company is migrating to Deacom ERP System)

Education and/or Experience:  This position requires a college degree in a business-related field. Experience in flavor production, manufacturing and computer science is also required.

Language Skills:  Ability to read, analyze and interpret general office correspondence.  Ability to write business correspondence and respond appropriately to questions from managers and employees.  Ability to speak and present ideas both orally and in writing.

Mathematical Skills:  Strong aptitude in dealing with figures and amounts related to the analysis of sales data and cost analysis.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to analyze data, procedures and processes.

Computer Skills:  Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Ability to manipulate databases. Deep understanding of various Microsoft products.
