We are excited to be opening our brand new preschool, dedicated to providing a nurturing and enriching environment for young children. Our mission is to inspire curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning in every child who walks through our doors. As we prepare to embark on this exciting journey, we are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Lead Teacher (with Director’s Permit) & Assistant Director.

Job Description:

We are looking for a passionate and experienced educator to fill the role of Lead Teacher & Assistant Director at our preschool. In this dual position, you'll lead a classroom of young learners while also contributing to the overall management and administration of the preschool. This role is perfect for someone committed to early childhood education and eager to embrace leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a classroom of preschool-aged children, fostering a safe and nurturing environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans to stimulate learning and growth.
  • Encourage children's creativity, problem-solving skills, and self-expression.
  • Supervise children both in the classroom and on the playground, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Assist in the overall administration and management of the preschool, including enrollment and parent communication.
  • Collaborate with the Director to ensure compliance with licensing requirements, health and safety regulations, and program quality standards.
  • Conduct regular observations and assessments of children's progress, and communicate with parents/guardians about their child's development.
  • Act as a liaison between parents, staff, and administration, addressing concerns and maintaining open communication channels.

Requirements include:

  • Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or Program Director Permit
  • 12 core semester units early childhood education/development
  • 3 semester units in Administration or Staff Relations
  • 4 years teaching experience in a supervised group Child Care Center

OR

  • A degree in child development, 3 units Administration and 2 years teaching experience
  • BA degree in child development, 3 units Administration and 1 year teaching experience

Background in Judaism not required
