Job Overview:
As a Plant Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of our mineral sands and mining plant. Your role is critical in ensuring efficient production, safety compliance, and optimal utilization of resources. Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management:
- Supervise and coordinate all plant activities, including production, maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Monitor plant performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements.
- Production Planning:
- Develop production schedules to meet volume, cost, and quality targets.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless production flow.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Implement safety procedures and ensure adherence to OSHA and industry regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and promote a culture of safety awareness.
- Resource Allocation:
- Optimize resource allocation (personnel, equipment, materials) to maximize efficiency.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
- Staff Leadership:
- Lead and motivate a team of operators, technicians, and support staff.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback.
- Budget Management:
- Assist in budget preparation and monitor expenses related to plant operations.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process optimization and implement best practices.
- Stay informed about industry trends and technological advancements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mining, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mineral sands, mining operations or asphalt operations preferred.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of plant equipment, maintenance practices, and safety protocols.
