EHS Specialist (Environment, Health, & Safety) | 100% Onsite Monday-Friday 1st Shift

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for monitoring EHS programs at assigned facilities under the direction of the EHS Management team.
  • The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below-mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.
  • Administrates workplace safety incident management, including workers' compensation administration, and assists in the corrective and or preventative action process.
  • Assists in the implementation and maintenance of EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Acts as a business partner to employees and managers on all safety-related issues with the assistance of the EHS Management team.
  • Monitors and or supervises hazardous waste management at assigned facilities.
  • Assists in emergency response support and action planning at assigned facilities.
  • Performs weekly EHS tasks as required.
  • Maintains and monitors EHS records, equipment, and the compliance calendar for assigned facilities, including permit submissions.
  • Provides key performance indicator reporting to Corporate EHS.

Physical Demands:

  • Sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Lifting and or pushing and or pulling and carrying products weighing up to 45 pounds.
  • Potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and or moderate noise levels.
  • Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals or other materials.
  • Safety Shoes compliant with site-specific policies and or procedures must be worn in designated areas.
  • Potential exposure to blood.

Qualifications (Education & Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in an Environmental Health and Safety related field or equivalent experience is a plus
  • 1– 3 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills:

  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local EHS regulations, safety procedures, equipment, supplies, and loss control and prevention theories are a plus.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good business and technical writing skills.
  • Able to prioritize and plan daily tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Well-versed in Microsoft applications.
