Currently seeking an experienced RN with a BSN and a Master's degree in addition to teaching experience to oversee and coordinate the Practical Nursing program at Portage Lakes Career Center. This position calls for exceptional organizational and communication skills in addition to being able to lead and schedule a small faculty including a commitment to continuous improvement and data-driven change.

This is a 210 day per year contract, Monday through Friday with some evenings required, STRS retirement system. Pay commensurate with experience.

25% data and record keeping for compliance; 25% student involvement, advising, and leadership; 25% leadership of faculty and department including curriculum, clinical outreach and scheduling, and scheduling; and 25% collaboration and compliance with other career center staff, accrediting bodies, Ohio Administrative Code, and community members.

Essential functions may include any of the following tasks:

1. Develop and implement the Practical Nursing program in accordance with Section 4723-5-09 of the Ohio Administrative Code

2. Develop and administer a recruitment and retention process for students in the program

3. Provide career counseling and job placement assistance to adult health occupations program students

4. Supervise the instructional program including selection of instructional materials, coordinating student clinical experiences, interpreting program policies, and directing the review and revision of the program curriculum

5. Ensure regular meetings of the faculty to facilitate communication and faculty participation in planning, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum

6. Provide leadership to the program through professional development and participation in professional organizations, implement an orientation process for new faculty, and facilitate faculty development, including enhancing educational competencies

7. Maintain positive relationships and collaborate with other health agencies in the community meeting with advisory committees and program development committees annually

8. Help market, recruit, and promote Adult Education Health Occupations programs

9. Certify to the Board of Nursing, in a format prescribed by the board, for each student who is an applicant for licensure in Ohio, that each applicant successfully completed the requirements of a program and the date the applicant completed the program requirements

10. Assist the Superintendent in the evaluation of program faculty ensuring a written policy related to the evaluation of faculty and instructional personnel is implemented

11. Perform other duties as requested by district administrators

Qualifications:

1. Completion of an approved registered nursing education program as defined in paragraph (S) of rule 4723-5-01 of the Administrative Code; at least five years of experience as a registered nurse (two of which as a faculty member of a registered or practical nursing education program); a master's degree is required (master of science in nursing if the individual does not have a bachelor of science in nursing); and current, valid licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio

2. Valid driver's license

3. Hold or be able to obtain a one-year career-technical teaching license

4. Computer technology skills as necessary for the position

5. Good attendance

6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, students, fellow employees, and the community

7. Pass BCI and FBI records check and/or other district pre-employment requirements

8. The employee may not be under the influence of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District
