Job Title: RD&A Lab Technician
Location: Beloit WI 53511
Duration: 6 Months and 4 Weeks
1st Shift: Mon to Fri (8 AM to 5 PM)
Temp to Hire

Description:
Overview / Accountability 
This is an entry level position that represents the potential first step in the career path of a R&D Associate Scientist.
Demonstrate scientific curiosity & employ efficient time management techniques.
Work in liquid Beverage laboratory environment to support pilot plant trials and prepare samples for internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
Liaise with R&D scientists and engineers to fully understand roasting, extraction and concentration technologies.
Liaise with R&D Scientists to fully understand formulation, processing, batching, packaging. 
Must be able to stand for long periods of time in laboratory and pilot plant and lift 50lbs
Responsible of fulfilling sample requests
Maintain individual stock of raw materials to batch sample product quickly (within 24 hours)
Demonstrate a scientific curiosity.
Employ efficient time management techniques
Must be able to taste and smell chemicals, flavors and food products.
Participate in sensory panels and other developmental opportunities.
Perform other duties as assigned pertaining to business/project needs.

Education:
Bachelor degree in Food Science, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.

Desirable:
1-2 years of experience within related industry

Can follow a recipe
Good math skills for problem-solving calculations.
Demonstrates strong and discerning sense of smell and taste.
Comfortable using computer for MS Office suite, Salesforce. 

Desirable: Willingness and ability to taste and evaluate multiple different products daily.

Comfortable in a laboratory setting, potentially exposed to strong odors and standing for long periods of time.
Comfortable working in pilot plant. This position requires a significant amount of time working in pilot plant.

Demonstrates no limitations to tasting a variety of materials
