The position of the Maintenance Mechanic is a crucial part of the MRS. KLEIN’S KOSHER PICKLE CO ®. They are responsible for the upkeep of all the equipment that is used in our production, and they are crucial to maintaining the quality and food safety of our customers and staff. As a team member you are one of the most important parts of our team.

Requirements:

Maintenance Mechanic must maintain the policies that have been set forth by the company, in both safety and quality. This position reports to the Plant Manager and the Maintenance Manager. The position includes the following items but is not limited to:

Not looking to train, Not an entry level position.

  • At least 5 years of experience with manufacturing food plant machines.
  • Must have experience with trouble shooting manufacturing machines, cappers, fillers, conveyors, VFD's, motors.
  • Food manufacturing machine maintenance and fix issues
  • Read detailed schematics for complex machines
  • Use hand tools and power tools to trim, cut and fit components into the final product.
  • Weld and solder pieces together
  • Align components and connect them with bolts and screws
  • Find faulty components in defective products to fix them
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks, such as climbing ladders and bending often
  • Mechanical skills and knowledge of basic machinery, including computers, tools, collaborative robots and other devices
  • The ability to see colors, since wires are often color coded
  • Physical strength to lift heavy machinery, tools and components up to 100lbs
  • Dexterity and good hand-eye coordination, with the ability to manipulate and assemble very large and extremely small components
  • Taking part in product development meetings.
  • Verifying dimensions and product specifications.
  • Ensuring that all the required parts for assembly are present.
  • Marking cutting lines on material.
  • Ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned and screwed in.
  • Ensuring that quality control standards are met.
  • Maintaining a production schedule.
  • Testing products for their functionality.
  • Troubleshooting and stress testing products to minimize problems or recalls.
  • Reporting and detailing product malfunctions.
  • Adhering to assembly safety standards.
  • Specialized certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in operating heavy machinery.
  • Excellent eyesight and color vision.
  • Good dexterity.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Physical stamina.
  • Climb ladders

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
