Laboratory Supervisor

DUTIES

· Responsible for the analysis of Soil and Groundwater using standard EPA methods with high proficiency utilizing one (2-3 preferred) techniques

o ICP-MS

o GCMS (VOA 624 or 8260 & SVOC 625 or 8270)

o General gravimetric residue testing

o Semi-automated preps and digestion

· Functional knowledge and use of Agilent MassHunter

· Participate in daily operation of Environmental Soil Laboratory

o Analytical Testing & Data Review

o Instrument Calibration & Basic Maintenance

o Supply Organization and Tracking

· Adhere to quality standards, safety protocols, and project objectives

· Assist in preparation and editing of SOPs and creating a uniform system for sample testing

o Supervise Laboratory staff, including hiring, training, an performance evaluation

o Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and standards

o Stay current on developments in environmental analytical techniques and technologies

EDUCATION AND SKILLS

· Bachelor’s degree or higher

· 5+ years of direct laboratory experience, environmental or product testing preferred

· Proficiency in Agilent Mass Hunter & MS Office

· Time management, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

· Strong Teamwork

· Comfortable working in lab and office settings
