Church Administrator Position Description
New Life Ministries DC seeks a part-time, detail-oriented, organized Church Administrator to join
our ministry team. Overall, the Church Administrator must play a crucial role in ensuring that our
church runs efficiently and effectively, allowing clergy and staff to focus on the spiritual growth and
development of the ministry.
Responsibilities
Oversee church operations and manage office duties, including record-keeping.
Manage church finances, maintain financial bookkeeping, and generate monthly financial reports.
Coordinate with volunteers, organize church events and programs, and manage calendars.
Process mail, answer phone calls, and manage church email accounts.
Coordinate church meetings and record minutes.
Maintain and update the church website and social media platforms.
Manage scheduling for the clergy, music department, and other teams within the church to ensure
smooth operations.
Maintain an organized system for confidential church documents.
Qualifications and Skills
A proficient Church Administrator should possess skills and qualifications that align with the
responsibilities of managing the church’s daily operations, such as:
Proven work experience as a Church Administrator or similar administrative role.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
Sound understanding of bookkeeping and financial management.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficient in the use of office software and social media platforms.
Respect for confidentiality and discretion.
Understanding of the structure and operations of the Church.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with church members, staff, and
the public, fostering a warm and welcoming environment.
Ability to work effectively independently and in a team, often coordinating with various committees and
church groups.
Have high integrity and respect for the church’s values and mission.
Pay Range: $18/hr minimum to $25/hr maximum
Location: Washington DC
