We are seeking a Tier 1 IT Technician that will support a wide array of advanced technologies and solutions. This is a great environment for you to apply your knowledge and increase your skills and experience using modern hardware and software technologies.

 

Position Summary:

The role of the Tier 1 IT Technician is to provide first line support for all customers of Prodigy Information Technologies. The IT Service Desk is the central point of contact for all IT related incidents and service requests. The candidate will be responsible for resolving support requests as well as meeting customer satisfaction and continuous service delivery demands. IT Support staff work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment which provides services over the phone, through e-mail, in person (as needed) and self-service through our Ticketing system.

Schedule:
    • 8 hour shift
    • Monday to Friday (non remote)(hybrid possible)
    • On call (as needed)


This job has the following responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email.
  • Responsible for providing Level I support for hardware, software and end user inquiries via phone, chat, email and in-person interactions.
  • Install and configure new IT equipment: Workstations, necessary peripheral devices (monitors, printers, scanners, etc.), Networking equipment, Servers and appropriate software.
  • Deliver hardware support including replacing SSDs/HDDs, adding RAM, identifying and replacing damaged equipment.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
  • Accurately record, update and document requests using the IT service desk system.
  • Follow up on outstanding requests and ensure timely resolution.
  • Create accounts and configure hardware as part of on-boarding process.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software utilized at client facilities . This knowledge must include a strong knowledge of Windows Servers (2016 and newer) in an Active Directory environment.
  • Workable knowledge of Virtualization technologies, switch/network management, and configuration (Cisco, Dell, Netgear, HPE, etc…) and some Powershell scripting.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and profer the best possible solution.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English with speaking, hearing, and writing skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and have a willingness to continuously learn.
  • Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems (Windows) across a range of software applications.
  • Maintain a first-class level of customer service ensuring that all customers are treated efficiently and in an appropriate manner.
  • Exhibit a flexible approach to working on a rotating basis and provide necessary coverage where needed.
  • Local travel to client sites as needed for hardware/software support.


Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of IT experience in a business setting. (required).
  • AA or BA degree in Computer Science, information technology or a related field of study. Applicable and relevant work experience may be considered.
  • Must pass a drug test (payed for by the company). (required)
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record. (required)
  • Strong knowledge of Local Area Network/Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN) infrastructure concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), desktops, wireless devices, operating systems, software installation, software applications, and troubleshooting skills related to hardware and software applications (required).
  • Strong diagnostic and organizational skills a must and good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles. (required)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Azure AD (preferred).
  • Microsoft A+ certification and Network+ certification (preferred).
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Excellent phone, verbal and presentation skills a must.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Positive and professional demeanor.
  • Some local travel required.
