The Peer Run Youth Crisis Respite Program (PRYCRP) Director is responsible for developing, operationalizing, implementing, and monitoring the Peer Run Youth Crisis Respite Program and service delivery through Hill Country MHDD Centers (HCMHDDC).  PRYCRP aims to reduce mental health crises among youth aged 13-17 by extending the crisis respite care continuum to support youth and their families before the need escalates to overnight respite care. This program focuses on providing peer and family support, as well as access to essential resources for youth, their families, and supportive allies. It is a community-based initiative that includes peer support and family partner services. Additionally, the program aims to establish strong connections between the PRYCRP and various community-based organizations. These linkages are intended to enhance the support network within the community, thereby improving the overall health and well-being of the youth and their extended support networks. 

 

Services will be provided according to the general guidelines of evidence based Whole Health Peer Support practices, Certified Family Partner, Health Human Services Commission (HHSC) guidelines, and person-centered recovery planning.  In this role, the PRYCRP Director will manage/supervise a staff that includes full-time and part-time employees. This position oversees the certification process and ensures peer support staff obtains Certified Peer Specialist of Certified Family Partner status within one year of hire date. The PRYCRP Director will develop and implement an active Peer Advisory Council in which participants in recovery, their family members, and supportive allies are involved with program design, program evaluation, and have opportunities to inform the organizational decisions related to the program.

 

PRYCRP Director is responsible for ensuring HHSC performance contract measures and submission of required HHSC quarterly and monthly reports. This position requires flexibility in schedule, non-traditional hours, weekend hours, some travel and availability for afterhours clinical/administrative consult.

Leadership:

 

  • Cultivate existing relationships with community partners and build new relationships ensuring sufficient resources, MOUs, and access to services.
  • Develop and implement strategies that will maximize collaborations among program areas.
  • Develop strategies for integration into currently existing systems and align with future goals.
  • Foster interagency collaboration and support to best address needs of youth and families in PRYCRP.
  • Build positive engagement and program awareness within the agency and community.
  • Represent HCMHDDC PRYCRP in learning opportunities and Technical Assistance calls as needed.
  • Willingness to develop PRYCRP process, procedures and successfully build program structure.
  • React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.

Team Management and Development: Provide professional leadership in organizing, administering, supervising, and evaluating the effective delivery of the PRYCRP.

  • Support the team and individuals served to maximize and enhance individuals experience, choice, self-determination and decision-making in the planning and coordination of services.
  • Implementation of system(s) to evaluate the skill, experience, and professional development needs of all staff.
  • Build a work culture of accountability among team members by modeling oversight of individual and organizational program performance standards and expectations.
  • Monitors performance measures and reviews for further evaluation, for continuous quality improvement (CQI).
  • Recruit, hire and oversee training and orientation of all program staff.
  • Develop an atmosphere of respect, interest and enthusiasm in the services provided.
  • Recognize and encourage outstanding performance by persons within the program.
  • Conducts and documents regular staff meetings, one-on-one check-ins, and performance reviews.
  • Adhere to agency policy and seek supervisor consultation when performance or non-compliance is evidenced.

Program Operational Management:

  • Establish consistent, objective program performance standards of accountability for program measures and delivery standards.
  • Attends and participates in weekly/monthly staff meetings as required.
  • Development, creation, of management of youth peer council.
  • Maintains data tracking systems in an organized manner to comply with reporting and auditing requests in a timely fashion; to include monitoring of MOUs. 
  • Attends required HHSC PRYCRP calls to ensure adherence to standards and is knowledgeable of any updates related to programming.
  • Facilitate and co-facilitate outreach and educational presentations, as required to expand and sustain the program in the community.
  • Prepare and review professional performance and project summary reports to be submitted in a timely manner.
  • Co-supervise the development and administration of the annual PRYCRP services budget.
  • Maintain a knowledge of metric goals, and general contract developments.

Work Behaviors:

 

  • Plans, develops, and implements PRYCRP per contract guidelines and in fidelity with peer and family partner systems of care.
  • Collaborates with intra and inter-agency staff to ensure continuity of care for youth in services.
  • Conducts community outreach to ensure continued development and success of the program.
  • Provides program oversight with consultation for clinical oversight and decision making for the PRYCRP.
  • Performs Data Collection and Analysis to plan for and make projections for current and future programming.
  • Responsible for all business, administrative and clinical functions (with consultation) within PRYCRP.
  • Provides supervision of personnel.
  • Conducts comprehensive intake/admission assessments.
  • Determination of eligibility criteria to include understanding and use Diagnostic and Statistical Manual to make appropriate admission determinations with consultation of a Licensed Professional Counselor of the Healing Arts.
  • Exercises independent judgment.
  • Submits all requisite paperwork to include timesheets, travel logs, service reports, purchase orders and other required or requested documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensures all policies associated with the program are current and reflect best practices and programmatic operations.
  • Develops appropriate forms for program as needed.
  • Maintains comprehensive documentation that meets or exceeds HHSC and CMBHS standards.
  • Utilizes Collaborative Documentation and 95% of all documentation entered within 24 hours.
  • Comply with HIPPA and PHI to ensure confidentiality of all client information.
  • Comply with all HCMHDDC policies, and procedures.
  • Ensures timely communication within the department and with other departments and agencies via written correspondence, email, telephones, and other means to ensure project follow through and completion.
  • Attends work as scheduled.
  • Work closely with Human Resources team to provide the highest quality work environment, and staff supports possible.

 

You’ll definitely need:

  • Current enrollment and pursuit of master’s degree, human services meet educational requirement for LPHA, preferred.
  • Current enrollment and pursuit of bachelor’s degree, human services meet educational requirements for QMHP, required.

  • Youth and Young Adult Peer Support Training (YAYPS)
  • Peer Specialist Curriculum Trainings as assigned.
  • Other trainings as required to satisfy licensure, or company standards.
  • Valid Texas State Driver’s License
