My client, a successful mid-size machine shop, is seeking a Director of Manufacturing.

Salary + potential annual bonus based on the company performance

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with the company's overall business goals.
  • Oversee daily operations, including production planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and budgeting.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize workflows.
  • Possess an understanding of CNC machining principles, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Stay current with advancements in manufacturing technology and equipment.
  • Manage a team of manufacturing professionals, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Recruit, train, and develop manufacturing personnel to ensure a highly skilled workforce.
  • Address and effectively resolve conflicts within the manufacturing team.
  • Implement and maintain a robust quality management system to ensure consistent adherence to industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance and ensure all manufacturing processes adhere to safety protocols.
  • Experience with CAM software and CNC programming 
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Understanding of wide variety of precision measuring equipment and maintenance of.
  • Work closely with engineering for best design for manufacture strategies.
  • Occasional foreign travel related to import vendor partnerships.
  • Attend relevant trade show and seminars.
  • Specify and lead the purchase and installation of new machine tools.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (highly preferred).
  • Minimum7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in CNC machining operations , including programming, setup, and operation.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent decision-making abilities with a focus on achieving business objectives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant manufacturing software.
