Plumber Journeyman

Reports to

Superintendent on the Job-site.

Position Expectation and Essential Duties

Job Description Overview

Commercial and Residential Contractor is looking for a Plumber Journeyman. Ideal candidate will have a combination of technical skills and problem-solving abilities. Additionally, have a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Candidate will work on multiple job sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Assembles and installs pipe assemblies, valves, tubing, and fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.
  • Supplies and installs appliances such as dishwashers and water heaters, and fixtures such as sinks, urinals and toilets using hand and power tools.
  • Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand and power tools.
  • Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
  • Uses locator, snake, hydro-jetter and camera to locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes and fixtures in structures using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels.
  • Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required angle using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines and pipe-bending machines.
  • Understanding and interpreting blueprints and building plans to determine the layout and installation of plumbing systems in commercial structures.
  • Ensuring that all installations and repairs comply with local building codes and regulations, as well as industry standards for safety and quality.
  • Must maintain and properly use company issued tools and materials.
  • Working closely with construction professionals of other trades to coordinate plumbing installations with overall building plans.
  • Being available for emergency plumbing repairs and responding quickly to urgent situations.

Qualifications:

  • Presentable, professional, reliable, and punctual.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Clean driver license
  • Ability to pass drug and background check.
  • Must have own transportation, hand and power tools.
  • Flexible to work variable schedules.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

· Responsibilities occasionally may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours to meet deadlines.

  • Capable of meeting the physical demands of the job, including bending, reaching, squatting, lifting 50+ lbs.

· The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

· Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble objects and/or at times prepare handwritten notes.

Work Schedule / Travel Required

The typical work schedule is 8:00a.m. to 4:30p.m. Monday through Friday.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
