Legal Secretary

We are looking for a self-motivated Legal Secretary who wants longevity with a well-established law firm who will reward hard work and loyalty.

Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative support and assist Senior Paralegal in all aspects of litigation and case management.
• Assist with scheduling hearings, depositions and filing deadlines.
• Maintain database/electronic client files.
• Process mail.
• Transcribe, and proofread dictation, and create letters.
• Answer and direct phone calls.
• Maintain contact lists.
• Enhance office effectiveness.
• Ability to take instruction and work independently where appropriate.

Qualifications:

• A degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience
• One-year experience as a Legal Secretary with a concentration in Litigation, preferred.
• Familiarity with law, legal procedures, protocols, and court system
• Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a legal office and use of office equipment
• Excellent client relations skills and telephone etiquette
• Experience using Microsoft Office software, knowledge of Leap and Worldox a plus.
• Excellent secretarial and organizational skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure.
• Knowledge of e-filing protocols and court system in Civil Court, Probate Court and Appellate Court preferred.
• Knowledge of probate, trust and guardianship litigation and the Probate Code, a plus.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.

Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm
