Dance Instructor

{Part time 4 hours to 20+ hours a week}

Energetic, passionate, experienced dance teacher needed for Fall 2024

  • Understands, accepts, and abides by the School’s philosophy & mission in how class is conducted & studio integrity.
  • Of sound mind and mental stability.
  • Presents self professionally both in person and online.
  • Arrives punctually, be prepared for each class, and maintains regular attendance.
  • Creates a positive classroom environment which supports engaged student learning.
  • Explains and demonstrates techniques and methods of regulating movements of body to musical or rhythmic accompaniment.
  • Will provide age-appropriate classes and accompanying age-appropriate music.
  • Is experienced in multiple disciplines of dance (ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, modern, hip hop, acro/tumbling, ballroom, etc) and is comfortable teaching all levels.
  • Displays consistency and reliability and a general passion for dance and teaching children.
  • Will choreograph and help with all dance performances.
  • Will meet administrative and choreographic deadlines.
  • Communicates effectively and timely with students and parents as well as employer.
  • Drills pupils in execution of dance steps.
  • Has reliable transportation to teach classes in person.
  • Has reliable devices for providing music to teach with (ipod, phone, etc)
  • May teach history of dance.
  • May teach theory and practice of dance notation.
  • May assist with graphic designing as well as set & costume design.
  • May assist in the office or other administrative tasks.

 

Dance Certification or degree is not required but encouraged.

Additional choreography/workshop options may be available to those qualified.
