Summary/Objective

The Maintenance Supervisor position conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service, while supervising the maintenance technicians to ensure completion of projects. Works in direct relation with VP and Plant Superintendent.

Essential Functions

Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

Prepares and installs production machinery for a new line or process.

Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines while overseeing job completion of maintenance technicians.

Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service as well as drawings and/or blueprints for new installation of equipment .

This position has a supervisory role and is required to attend meetings and write disciplinary reports if needed.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions in and around the manufacturing plant. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of work for day shift are Monday through Friday, 7:00a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Some weekend work may be expected but rare.

Travel

Travel is not expected, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be occur to assist with installation of equipment at other company locations.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

Technical training; exposure to high-speed equipment.

3 years of related experience in production machines.
