Maintenance Technician

Please note: this is a seasonal position with full-time hours. Position will be based out of Buena Park location. Schedule is Monday - Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm.
Technician conducts regular daily inspections of all equipment. Identifies and resolves equipment problems or issues. Repair equipment and conducts preventive maintenance (PM) when maintenance is due. Support production lines during production season.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily inspections of all equipment.
- Maintain all equipment as outlined by the preventive maintenance program or as directed by the maintenance lead or supervisor.
- Trouble shoot equipment problems and make repairs or adjustments as needed.
- Test and check all production equipment for normal and safe operation.
- Remove equipment from the production line when equipment breaks down or when there is a changeover of production items.
- Utilize a Lockout/ Tagout procedure when the equipment breaks down.
- Connect and disconnect all production equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness around the Maintenance/Facility shop area, keeping tools cleaned and organized.
- Notify maintenance supervisor when parts have to be ordered
- Conduct all assigned work in a safe and timely manner.
- Follow and enforce safety rules and procedures.
- Adhere to company policies.
Administrative and Other Responsibilities:
- Complete daily log sheet reports
- Maintain and be responsible for issued tools
- Provide support to production when called on
- Report any equipment problems that are not working to manufacturing standards or any equipment safety problems to the Maintenance Supervisor
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Able to follow directions
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Working knowledge of the proper use of hand and power tools
- Ability to read and understand equipment manuals and schematics
- Able to communicate and interact well with co-workers and supervisors
- Experience with shrink packaging and sealing equipment preferred
Education:
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (G.E.D.) is preferred
- Technical training on packaging and sealing equipment a plus
Experience/Requirements
- At least one year maintenance experience or a combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties of this position
- Must have a valid California driver license
- Must be able to travel to various company facilities as required
