Nassau Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced veterinary assistant to join our team Our AHHA accredited six doctor practice celebrates the bond between pets and people.

Founded in 1937, Nassau Veterinary Clinic is one of the oldest animal hospitals in New York State. Inside our state-of-the-art facility you will find 5 comfortable exam rooms, a surgery suite, a spacious hospital treatment area and modern x-ray equipment. In addition, we have a grooming room, pet training room and an outdoor exercise area where agility classes are held. We can house 100 pets and over 40 team members dedicated to quality patient care

We are looking for a team player with exceptional client service and communication skills, attention to detail with a positive and compassionate attitude.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Basic exam room procedures such as restraint, obtaining an accurate patient history and preparing medications
  • Working knowledge of vaccines, common medications and conditions
  • Ability to effectively communicate and educate clients
  • Use of computerized medical records (Cornerstone) and invoicing

Qualifications

  • Motivated to maintain our standards of excellent client services and high- quality patient care
  • Team player with exceptional client service and communication skills, attention to detail with a positive and compassionate attitude
  • Minimum of 1-year of animal related experience is required
  • Veterinary software experience is a plus but we will train the right candidate

Hours will include weekdays, some evenings and weekends. Scheduled to fill our business needs. Hourly wage will commensurate with experience.
