Structured Cabling Estimator

Lantek Audio Video Communications is seeking a qualified Structured Cabling Systems Estimator to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a field leader looking to make a move into the office environment.

Qualifications

· The ideal candidate has:

· Previous experience installing, planning, and supervising the installation of structured cabling systems in large projects.

· High attention to detail.

· Strong written and verbal communications skills.

· Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office.

· Knowledge of OSHA regulations. (OSHA certifications are a plus)

· Experience with and/or certification from CommScope, Panduit, Leviton, or other major manufacturers.

· BICSI Certifications are a plus

· Knowledge of best practices and industry standards.

· Strong organizational skills.

· Ability to meet hard, non-negotiable deadlines and plan accordingly.

· Ability to work independently, but also collaboratively within the team.

Responsibilities

· Prepare cost estimates for large scale structured cabling projects.

· Evaluate bid documents, including technical specifications, schematic drawings, floor plan layouts and safety information.

· Accurately perform material takeoffs based on the bid documents provided.

· Accurately estimate project labor, and anticipate factors that can cause labor creep, such as unconventional site-specific logistics, site-specific safety protocols and schedule compression necessitating overtime.

· Professionally articulate questions on the project in the form of an RFI.

· Work with Sales in producing professional proposals.

· Upon project award, transfer project knowledge to the Project Management and BIM teams.

· Accurately estimate change orders for existing projects when requested by Project Manager.

· Coordinate with vendors and Lantek Purchasing to insure best project pricing.

Compensation and Benefits

· Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Target salary range will be $65,000 and up to $75,000 for uniquely qualified candidates.

· Company subsidized health insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas.

· Paid Holidays, including a week at Christmas after one year employment.

· Two weeks paid vacation after one year of employment.
