Job DescriptionJob Description

I- Job Brief

Extruder Operator personnel is responsible for safely and efficiently running the extruder and mixing equipment within the production area. Extruder operator personnel is responsible to keep machine and assigned work area clean and neatly organized.

 

I- Responsibilities

Extruder Operator Level I

· Review batch formula and load raw materials into mixing hoppers

· Weigh additions in pounds and grams as needed

· Operate the mixing machinery

· Operate material elevator

· Clean mixing hoppers and mixers

· Clean assigned areas

· Properly complete paperwork including batch sheets

· Other duties deemed appropriate by management

 

Extruder Operator Level II

· All the responsibilities related to the level I position

· Clean extruders and cooling belts according to Cardinal’s work practice requirements

· Mixing of flake with additives for re-extrusion

· Monitoring extruders and swapping baskets

· Operate hopper discharge station

 

Extruder Operator Level III

· All the responsibilities related to the level position I and II

· Operate all extruders

· Purge extruders

· Monitor the machinery during the extrusion process and adjust parameters as advised

· Train other operators when required

· Pull samples for QC when required

· Spray QC panels when required

· Perform assigned QC testing when required

· Assist the QC personnel when required

I- Pay Scale Range-classification (See Human Resource Pay Scale Matrix)

· From Extruder Operator I - III

II- Personal Protection

· Appropriate attire and footwear

· Personal protective equipment shall be worn when going into production areas as described in PPE Program

III- Training & Qualification

The following are the minimum training and qualification to be performed internally regarding Cardinal Requirements for the new hired:

· New Hired training program

· Forklift specific for designated personnel

 

IV- Hazards (See Job Hazard Matrix)

· Industrial hazards and repetitive motion injuries.

· Back and extremity strains and sprains.

· Regularly climbing up and down stairs.

· Continually walking and standing.

· Kneeling and bending.

· Exposure to dusty environment
