About You:

Baeza Engineering is looking for a motivated professional Civil Engineer for a senior project engineer role in the San Antonio office. The perfect candidate has a strong desire to grow and advance in the Civil Engineering field professionally. Additionally, this self-starter has the ability to work on several projects concurrently and efficiently while utilizing time by executing assigned tasks accurately, on schedule, and within budget.

You have a deep understanding of Construction Plan preparation and permitting processes. Training will be provided if you have permitting experience outside the area but understand the land development process from other local/state agencies. You are also familiar with local development regulations and design criteria to independently formulate and present project solutions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. Civil Engineering, 4-8 years of land development experience.
  • Civil 3D proficiency for design and plan production.

License/Certification:

  • Engineer In Training (EIT) required, Texas Professional Engineer (PE) or be able to obtain within one year of hire.

 

Job Description:

Project Management:

  • Assist senior management prepare project budgets, proposals, and client development.
  • Develop professional relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, co-workers, and other professionals.
  • Work as part of a team to lead, oversee, and execute the planning, design, deliverable production, permitting, and construction administration of multiple projects.
  • Understand and prioritize on-time project schedule, milestones, deliverables and submittals.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of EITs and junior staff under general supervision of senior management.
  • Participate in professional associations and organizations.

Design Phase:

  • Prepare construction documents and project deliverables with Civil 3D and other applicable software. Training is available for advanced design practices of surface grading, pipe networks, plan and profile sheets, and template-based annotation.
  • Grading and Drainage design for stormwater management. You have a basic understanding of the rational method of drainage design. You can learn advanced drainage and hydraulic design with HEC, Civil 3D H&H and similar software.
  • Understand of local ordinances, design guidance manuals, and engineering principles for execution of project deliverables.
  • Prepare project manuals and specifications for public sector projects. Training will be provided on the firms methodology for developing project manuals.

 

Schedule:

  • Full-Time
  • Monday through Friday, 40-hour workweek.
  • Hybrid office/ remote flex schedule available: Three days in office/ Two days remote. Specific schedule can be negotiated and adjusted based on work experience.
