Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Engineering with a strong background in the .NET framework to lead our dynamic engineering team. This role involves overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of our software products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and security. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large engineering teams, a deep understanding of the .NET ecosystem, and the ability to drive strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
    • Set clear goals and expectations, provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.
    • Oversee recruitment, training, and development of engineering staff.
  2. Technical Oversight:
    • Provide technical leadership in the architecture, design, and implementation of software solutions using the .NET framework.
    • Ensure the adoption of best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
    • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, integrating them into the team's workflow.
  3. Project Management:
    • Oversee multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables.
    • Implement and maintain agile development methodologies.
  4. Strategic Planning:
    • Work closely with the CTO to develop and execute the engineering roadmap.
    • Identify and prioritize technical initiatives that align with business goals.
    • Drive continuous improvement in processes, tools, and techniques.
  5. Quality Assurance:
    • Establish and enforce quality standards for software development and delivery.
    • Implement robust testing strategies, including unit tests, integration tests, and automated testing.
  6. Stakeholder Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior management, product managers, and clients.
    • Present technical concepts and solutions to non-technical audiences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive experience with the .NET framework, including ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, and Entity Framework.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile and Scrum.
  • Proven ability to manage large engineering teams and complex projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies such as Angular, React, or Vue.js.
