Hours: Monday – Friday 1 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. during the school year with the ability to flex the schedule when needed or shift the weekly schedule during the school year to cover a weekend event occasionally. 7:00 am to 4:00 pm during the summer months when students are not in the building
Job Type: Full-time year-round 40 hrs per week
Pay: $17.00 to $19.50 per hour, depending on experience
Summary:
Performs custodial maintenance duties, including dusting, mopping, removing trash, cleaning, disinfecting vacuuming, shampooing carpets, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Performs routine maintenance activities.
● Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuum floors.
● Gathers and empties trash.
● Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.
● Dust furniture, walls, and equipment.
● Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
● According to instructions, mix cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning.
● Cleans and polishes fixtures and furniture.
● Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
● Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems
● Assist with helping to maintain facility grounds – some mowing and snow shoveling, minor landscaping.
● Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include painting, minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical, light ballast, and other building fixtures.
● Communicate effectively with all members of the district and community.
● Cleans and assists with the upkeep of the facilities.
● Report any issues to the Facilities and Safety Manager.
● Performs other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements/Skills
● High school diploma or equivalent required
● Knowledge of general carpentry, plumbing, and electricity.
● Ability to use hand tools and power tools
● Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
● Good communication and interpersonal skills
● Prolonged periods of standing, or walking required
● Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
● Ability to lift 50 lbs. at a time
● Basic computer knowledge
● Ability to work alone and with other staff members
● Experience in school a plus
