Resident Field Technician - Durant, OK

We are looking for someone who lives in or around the Durant, OK area or any city or cities around those areas. You will be a Resident Field Tech typically dispatched daily from your home from our office in Paris Texas.

Please note: the wages posted for this Job are the estimated compensation for similar positions. While we don't share our pay ranges online, our actual pay ranges are based on your current Skills, Knowledge, Experience, and Growth Potential.

Deep South Equipment currently has positions available for skilled forklift/heavy equipment technicians with mechanical aptitude and industry experience to join their team. Prior forklift, Heavy equipment, or automotive background will fit well in this position. Deep South Equipment is a factory-recognized Dealer of Distinction by Hyster -Yale Lift Truck Company.

If you have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working with forklifts, heavy machinery, automotive, or related industrial equipment, then this is a career you do not want to miss. Electrical experience on lift trucks or industrial equipment is a plus. A technical degree in a related field is preferred but not required.

Summary: Diagnose and repair forklifts and material handling equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and Diagnose (troubleshoot) equipment malfunctions or failures

  • Repair or replace engines, transmissions, carburetors, final drives, steering, clutches, cross shafts, hydraulic components, including pump motors, valves, and all related components, electrical systems, and air systems.

  • Perform assigned tasks in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.

  • Communicate in a courteous and effective manner with customers and/or co-workers.

  • Prepare required documentation accurately and timely, including work orders, parts lists, and time cards.

  • Must provide your own tools - large or specialty tools provided by the company.

  • Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety laws, policies and rules

  • Overtime work may be required in this position.
