Job DescriptionJob Description

As a Yurt Village Host, you will work with 1-2 hosts, as well as other department team members to deliver a high level of service and safe experience. Hosts are responsible for transporting supplies to and from Yurt Village, setting up for guest arrival; including making beds, snow removal, routine checks on systems and appliances, lifting heavy items, and maintaining a clean and organized space. We seek those who have a unique set of skills ranging from excellent interpersonal and communication to troubleshooting and logistics.

 

Hosts will accompany members and their guests during a 2 night/3 day stay at our Yurt Village in the backcountry, primarily on weekends (Thursday - Sunday). Group sizes are typically 12 guests, occasionally reaching up to 20. Hosts may also occasionally be asked to support cat operators and guides, and will be imperative to become familiar with the road network and ski zones.

 

Please note that most of your time will be spent outdoors in a winter setting and conditions can change rapidly and become extreme. Situational awareness is key to maintaining a safe environment for you and those around you.

 

Training will start in November/December 2024 for Yurt Village systems and operation, general protocol, and property knowledge.

 

Qualifications

  • Winter backcountry experience.

  • Professionalism, Outgoing personality, Self-discipline, Proactive, Punctuality, Handles Pressure, Verbal Communication, Listening, Customer Focus, Organization, Lifting up to 50lbs.

 

Recommended Certifications:

  • Wilderness First Responder (WFR),

  • AIARE Level-1 (AVI-1)

  • Food Handlers Permit

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Mechanical/ Electrical Troubleshooting,

  • Skiing/Snowboarding

  • Snowmobiling

Responsibilities

  • Hosting members and guests at the Yurt Village.

  • Backcountry safety practices in a winter setting.

  • Outgoing, friendly, and versatile Yurt Village Hosts to create a warm environment for guests to enjoy.

  • Prepare Yurt Village for member trips: General cleanliness, make beds, transport food, water, supplies and waste, snow removal, prepare catered meals, misc tasks and errands.

  • Routine inspection of utility systems, generators, heaters and appliances.

  • Inventory management and organization.
