Next Level Technician is seeking an experienced and certified RCDD Technician to join our team. As an RCDD Technician, you will be responsible for designing and implementing structured cabling systems based on industry standards and customer requirements. This role involves collaborating with clients, engineers, and project managers to deliver high-quality telecommunications infrastructure solutions.

Telecommunications is one of the fastest growing industries in the USA with a 6.3% projected growth over the next 7 years. With this growth comes more jobs, more chances for upward mobility and more financial security for our technicians.

Technicians at NLT will be working at a variety of Commercial and Industrial sites. Each site and scope of work will be unique and will add to the skillset and knowledge of the technician. Site conditions may range from new construction to existing and work may vary from inside to outside. Hours vary as do jobsites but most jobs will be first shift with the occasional second shift. Technicians will be installing structured cabling such as CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, Fiber and Coax.

 

- Design structured cabling systems (copper and fiber optic) based on client specifications and project requirements.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and documentation using CAD software.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to gather data for cabling designs.
- Provide technical expertise and support during project planning and implementation phases.
- Collaborate with construction teams and contractors to ensure installations meet design specifications.
- Perform quality assurance checks and testing on installed cabling systems.
- Keep abreast of industry standards, codes, and best practices related to telecommunications infrastructure.
- Assist with project estimation, budgeting, and scheduling.

- RCDD certification (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing structured cabling systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software for creating detailed design drawings.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications standards (e.g., ANSI/TIA/EIA, BICSI).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
