Zeal Development is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Staff Accountant with strong bookkeeping, accounts payable (AP) processing skills, and a QuickBooks Online (QBO) certification to join our finance team. This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records, processing financial transactions, and supporting the overall financial operations of our real estate development projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of bookkeeping, experience in AP processes, and a passion for working in the dynamic real estate industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including daily bookkeeping tasks such as recording transactions, reconciling bank statements, and managing the general ledger.
  • Ensure all financial data is properly recorded in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and adhere to company policies and procedures.

Accounts Payable (AP) Processing:

  • Manage the full cycle of accounts payable, including receiving, verifying, coding, and entering vendor invoices into the QBO system.
  • Prepare and process payment runs, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain vendor files and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

General Ledger and Financial Reporting:

  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparing and posting journal entries.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare account reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

Project Accounting:

  • Track and report on project-related expenses, ensuring accurate cost allocation and budget adherence.
  • Collaborate with project managers to provide financial insights and ensure proper documentation of project expenses.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets for various projects and departments.

Qualifications:

●       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

●       2-4 years of experience in accounting, with a strong focus on bookkeeping and accounts payable.

●       QuickBooks Online (QBO) Certification required.

●       Experience in the real estate or construction industry is highly desirable.

●       Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft Excel.

●       Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.

●       Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

●       Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

●       Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

●       Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
