Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Med/Surg RN to join our dedicated mental health team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric care to adult patients, ensuring their safety and promoting their mental health recovery. This role involves working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care tailored to each patient's unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects and therapeutic responses.
- Provide direct patient care, including crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and therapeutic communication.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
- Participate in case conferences, treatment planning meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in psychiatric nursing through continuous education and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid RN license in Ohio.
- BSL AND CPI certification.
- Previous experience in a correctional facility or similar healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of medical procedures and terminology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain professionalism.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
