Contract with the possibility of becoming permanent: $18/hr
7am to 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday
Responsibilities
- Maintain park grounds, homeless encampments, right-of-ways
- Maintain building systems including interior/exterior lighting,
- Light work orders including but not limited to changing light fixtures, tiles, patchwork, room set-ups, breakdowns, transporting equipment etc.
- Patrol building exteriors for garbage, sweep lots and walkways as needed
- Manage time effectively, and perform work in a safe and professional manner
- Estimate time and extent of repairs
- Assist groundskeepers with any landscaping duties
- Report any facility problems to the immediate supervisor
Requirements
- Knowledge of types and uses of common hand and power tools, materials, and standard equipment used in groundskeeping, facility maintenance, construction, and repairs
- Knowledge of maintenance and construction methods related to parks, athletic fields, and recreation equipment.
- Knowledge of precautions necessary to work safely with tools and mechanized equipment and around the public.
- Ability to perform manual tasks involving physical strength and endurance under variable weather conditions including working with herbicides and around extreme heat.
- Ability to work effectively with coworkers and the general public
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Ability to conform to grooming and dress codes (uniforms furnished).
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
- A valid Georgia Driver’s License is required upon appointment
