Job DescriptionJob Description

This position reports to the Director of Revenue Recognition. Must have thorough understanding of order to cash process, technical understanding of ASC 606 for revenue recognition and direct experience with revenue accounting transactions. This position provides billing and revenue accounting support.

 

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex customer contracts to determine appropriate billing and revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and company policies.
  • Record transactions for billing activities, adjustments and journal entries related to revenue recognition.
  • Monitor past due accounts receivable and work with project managers to resolve any project issues that may be holding up payments, contacting customers as necessary.
  • Prepare account reconciliations for revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable related accounts.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements related to projects, billing, revenue recognition and related accounting policies.
  • Assist with the implementation of system modules within NetSuite related to revenue management.
  • Assist in preparation of financial data and support for tax packages, audits, budgets, and periodic forecasts.
  • Assist with the implementation of SOX and ensure compliance.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient in MS Office products.
  • NetSuite ERP desirable or similar ERP experience.
  • Thorough understanding of the order to cash process.
  • Technical understanding of ASC 606- revenue recognition.
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and importance to public reporting.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate accounting function of public company preferred.
