Sea-3, LLC operates a major refrigerated liquefied petroleum gas import/storage/distribution terminal in the Port of Portsmouth which receives propane by vessel and rail for distribution by truck to propane dealers and commercial users in the region. We are currently looking to for a full-time, experienced Terminal Operator to join our team ASAP.

Position Summary

The Operator's primary responsibility will be to assist and support Terminal Operations and carry out their duties in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with established practices and procedures. The Operator will be directly responsible to the Lead Operator on their shift. In the absence of the Lead Operator, the Operator will assume the control room duties. During the day shift, the Operator will assist the maintenance department in the performance of its duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

· Monitor day-to-day operations of the storage tank and piping, refrigeration equipment, truck rack equipment, and related equipment and systems

· Maintain hourly and daily operating logs

· Assist with TPVision Inventory Tracking and Control Program

· Terminal security in accordance w/ MARSAC and USCG regulations

· Ship unloading

· Railcar unloading

· Assist with terminal housekeeping and integrity

· Perform routine maintenance tasks

· May perform other general maintenance responsibilities as directed

· Train new truck drivers on SEA-3 truck rack loading procedures

· Assist truck drivers with the operation of the loading skids

· Works diligently and follows all safety requirements to prevent injuries, product contamination, spills and avoid product loss

· Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

· Basic mathematical ability and understanding is required to successfully perform tank measurements, read gauges, set up product transfers into and out of tanks. This includes the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, convert fractions to decimals and vice versa, etc.

· Requires knowledge of refined product characteristics, measurement and safe handling practices.

· Mechanical abilities or experience with operating equipment is a plus

· Experience operating with modern HMI control systems is a plus

· Communicate effectively orally and in writing with co- workers, supervisors, internal and external customers

· Must be able to take responsibility

· Ability to understand and perform reasonably complicated written procedures

· Must be willing and able to work 8-hour rotating shifts, periodic overtime, and on a call-out basis when needed

· Strong safety ethic is a must

Education and work Experience

· High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred

· Experience in hazardous materials facilities operations is preferred

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and telephone keypad.

· Must have the ability to lift, move and carry tool kits, hoses and other objects weighing up to 30 pounds

· Must be able to ascend and descend narrow stairs

· The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions in temperature extremes and inclement weather.

· Must be able to perform some work at heights and over or around water at marine facility locations

· May regularly be required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials and working environment

· May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces

· The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.

· As work volume fluctuates, must have ability to work weekends, holidays and shift work during a vessel receipt or as required.
