Qualified Mental Health Professional

Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, the "Qualified Mental Health Professional-Adult" or "QMHP-A and the Qualified Mental Health Professional Trainee will provide direct Mental Health Support Services (MHSS) that implement a service plan, that provides structure, support, and services to clients. These services are provided by agency policies.
Position Qualifications:
The Mental Health Skill Building Counselor should be registered with the Board of Counselors as a Qualified Mental Health Professional-Adult (QMHP-A) or a Qualified Mental Health Professional Trainee (QMHP-T).
Position Responsibilities:
Provides direct, Mental Health Support Services (MHSS) to identified clients (Ensure that the required LMHP documents have been gathered and completed to ensure that the Qualified Mental Health Professional-Adult (QMHP-A), and Qualified Mental Health Professional Trainee (QMHP-T),
- and all involved parties can participate in the preparation of treatment plans and updates.
- Assists in the planning of services.
- Provides clients with day-to-day skills/education as well as support to assist clients in meeting their day-to-day obligations.
- Models and teaches problem-solving techniques.
- Provides a variety of interventions in the client’s home and community as appropriate and necessary. These interventions may be behavioral, financial, and from a mental health skill-building
- Provides linkage to community-based services and support; provides advocacy and support for the client.
- Coordinates scheduling of appointments, as needed.
- Coordinates services, as needed, and Link Crisis plan to appropriate mental health provider
- Is responsible for the proper and timely documentation of all information required by the Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services (DBHDS) and HARMONY1, LLC Mental Health Services,
- Maintains regular and ongoing contact with referring agencies, as well as other agencies involved in client
- Actively coordinates and plans discharge and aftercare plans with the referring agency.
- Attends interagency meetings, as necessary.
- Attends and participates in team meetings.
- Attends and participates in orientation, in-service training, and conferences as scheduled.
- Attending supervision.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Driver's License w/current inspection and vehicle auto insurance acceptable driving record
Attend and participate in new employee orientation, in-service training, and conferences as scheduled and perform other duties as assigned. Receive ongoing training throughout the year, maintain and keep current all first aid and CPR training requirements, "Qualified Mental Health Professional-Adult" or "QMHP-A”, Qualified Mental Health Professional Trainee (QMHP-T) “staff will be trained in Therapeutic Options (behavioral intervention training). All applicants must complete an employment application, have a valid Driver's License w/acceptable driving record, undergo, and pass a background check, and provide references.

Constance holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Christopher Newport University, a master’s degree in Public Administration from Strayer University, and an Executive Graduate Certificate in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. She grew up in North Carolina and during her high school years, she moved to Virginia where she met her husband, Arthur.
Arthur is the full-time Senior Pastor of New Life Church – Hampton, Inc. He is a retired Shipfitter for Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries. He graduated from Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton, Virginia, with certifications in Leadership. Pastor Arthur Rogers and Constance Rogers have raised two children, Nekitell (Nikki) and Vermont. They have one grandson, Rhythm.
