Community Impact Coordinator

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The primary function of the Community Impact Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and assisting the Manager of Community Impact with the day-to-day operations and facilitation of the Family Services Program. This includes but is not limited to coordinating and facilitating all classes, workshops, events and services. This position will be responsible for assisting in developing relationships and networking with community partners, school leaders, Boys & Girls Club leadership and all other stakeholders on an as needed basis. This position will require coordinating and communicating with Club Directors and Site Coordinators to ensure the availability of Club space to implement specialty programming. The Community Impact Coordinator will assist in gathering data to provide reports specific to highlighting attendance, classes, workshops, new and existing partnerships. This individual will assist in the overall growth, development and expansion of the Family Services program.
Responsible for assisting in overseeing the food distribution special project grant for Boys & Girls Club, with focus on the areas of customer service, reporting and ensuring performance measures are met for public and private grant opportunities. Core areas of programming include; Character and Citizenship Development, Healthy Lifestyles, and Academic Success. Collaborates with Family Services staff and Site Managers to provide program delivery, family recruitment, and maintaining community relations. This position is responsible to assist in the overall growth and development of assigned grant funded programs and opportunities according to the goals and objectives set forth by the organization.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership
- Responsible for assisting in the development and operation of the kitchen and to support one of the most critical factors for family success being food quality.
- Build and maintain partnerships with local organizations to expand access to social and community services.
- Ensure the successful and timely implementation of delivery of food
- Serve as liaison and contact with food banks, local school districts and other community organizations for the purpose of developing and fostering partnerships at logistical level.
- Assist in implementing policies and procedures that fulfill all city, county federal and state grant requirements.
- Assist in monitoring, collecting and reporting applicable data and information from each Club site to meet grant-reporting requirements.
- Manage food distribution sign-ups.
- Coordinate with community partners for successful implementation of healthy lifestyles and community service initiatives
Strategic Planning & Program Management/Development
- Assist in continually evaluating grant program, reporting results according to established deadlines and addressing food needs of members and families.
- Ensure kitchen is well maintained to pass public health inspections.
- Assist in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating overall grant programs, services and activities to ensure they meet objectives and members needs and interests.
- Assist with compiling regular reports reflecting all activities, inventory, ordering, attendance, distribution of food, kitchen temperature logs; maintain food handlers, and proper kitchen certification.
Partnership Development
- Assist with developing and managing partnerships with other organizations, member, parents, families, community leaders and other stakeholders.
- Help to recruit families and conduct meetings when necessary pertaining to the family services program.
- Serve as an advocate for Club members and youth in general by participating with schools, other youth service organizations and nonprofits such as feeding America.
Marketing and Public Relations
- Increase visibility of Club programs via posting daily schedules, announcement of upcoming events and dissemination of timely information to schools, other organizational and the media.
- Work with Site Directors, Director of Program Services in planning and execution of special events.
- Make yourself available to speak on behalf of the Club to interested groups by coordinating such appointments with Administrative Office.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May oversee or assist specific programs/activities.
- Ability to have flexible schedule, some weekends, and alternative hours may be requested for special events.
- This position may require working at any of our BGCGRR locations.
- Purchase or approve purchase of supplies and equipment.
- Will be required to drive a 7 or 10 passenger van or U-Haul
- Must be able to lift 40lbs
- Must obtain a food handlers certification
- Must obtain CPR certification
- Assume other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Associates degree preferred, however, experience planning and supervising activities equivalent of 3 years, can be subsidized with a college degree
- Demonstrated ability in project and program management.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to recruit, train, manage and motivate people.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification or ability to certify upon hire.
- Valid California State Driver’s License.
