We are a CPA firm seeking a full-time Tax Preparer to join our team in Stoughton, MA The ideal candidate is self-motivated, eager to learn, responsible, and able to take on challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Review a variety of financial documents to prepare tax returns and provide tax services
  • Develop and execute tax strategies, while researching any potential deductions or future problems
  • Collaborate with others on the tax team to devise long-term tax plans and strategies
  • Interview clients as needed to determine the best path for their needs
  • Actively prepare for major tax deadlines throughout the year

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in public accounting and/or tax planning and preparation
  • Strong bookkeeping skills, preferably within a business-services environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to explain complex accounting data in a simple way
  • Ability to analyze complex systems & stay up to date with latest accounting methods and technology
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial software
  • Excellent attention to detail
