Are you an innovative, experienced, and dynamic Human Resource Director with law firm experience? If so, we would love to talk with you and see if we can make a match. As the HR Director you will work for an established Austin based law firm with specialties and expertise, ranging from multiple areas of litigation, municipal law, and complex tax planning. We would love to hear about your ideas for change and learn about what you have done to stand out in your position.

The successful candidate must be experienced working across a broad spectrum of responsibilities including hands-on human resources and administrative work to issues involving employee relations, business judgment, and strategic planning. You will supervise and oversee the facilities department, Support Services, and Reception Operations. The HR Director’s interpersonal characteristics will build confidence and credibility by virtue of his or her personal presence, demeanor, leadership skills, and professional qualifications.

The successful candidate will possess the following characteristics and capabilities:

• Strong administrative, management, and leadership abilities. Ability to work with limited direction, and to provide direction and strategic guidance to other directors and managers.

• Must be able to rapidly analyze issues, anticipate consequences, make decisions, and initiate action.

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to display initiative and attention to detail. Must be able to communicate complex information and ideas effectively and efficiently to personnel at all levels of the firm. Must be able to read, interpret and understand written and oral communications, and to present ideas effectively, including under pressure and strongly-held opposing viewpoints.

• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, resourcefulness, the ability to create an atmosphere of trust and openness, and the capacity to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of firm personnel and diverse groups of people while maintaining confidentiality as needed or required.

• Capable of dealing with difficult situations and people. Must be able to maintain stable performance and equanimity, sometimes under significant pressure or opposition.

• Ability to encourage and motivate employees while maintaining consistent office practices and procedures.

• Must be organized and self-directed in approach to work.

• Must be able to manage and direct administrative support staff to accomplish multiple objectives and goals.

• Extensive experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• The successful candidate should have a minimum of seven (7) years of increasingly responsible experience in a human resources management role in a law firm or other professional services firm, and be comfortable in a law firm environment. An undergraduate degree and/or human resources certification is required for this position. The combination of education and experience may be considered.
