Industrial Electrical Estimator/ Project Manager

Reporting directly to the Division Manager, the estimator responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepare complete scope estimates based on a proposal documentation on a variety of design build projects.
  • Review, interpret and analyze project documentation: drawings, specifications, data, commercial terms, proposals, etc.
  • Perform conceptual estimating from preliminary project parameters.
  • Manage the development of the initial execution, logistic plans and schedule.
  • Solicit input from field operations to include in final project estimate.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for all self-perform work activities: craft hours, labor, materials, and equipment cost from a crew-based perspective.
  • Formulate all project indirect cost: staffing, project schedules, on-site facilities, support cost with schedule Development.
  • Drive firm’s estimating process/procedure compliance consistency.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders
  • Make and influence decisions under tight deadlines, often with incomplete information.
  • Develop project plans and schedules, including defining project scope, tasks, resources, and timelines.
  • Manage the budget and financial aspects of the project, including tracking project costs, forecasting future costs, and managing project invoicing and payment processes.
  • Oversee the selection and management of contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers, including negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including project team members, clients, and senior management, to ensure project goals are met and project status is communicated regularly.
  • Review and approve electrical designs, schematics, and specifications, ensuring they are in line with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Manage and resolve project risks and issues, including identifying and mitigating potential risks, and managing changes to project scope and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national building codes, electrical codes, and safety regulations, including obtaining necessary permits and certifications.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners, building trust and ensuring project success.
  • Mentor and develop junior project managers and electrical engineers, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure their growth and development.
  • Exhibit business sense, forge partnerships with customers and analyze risk.
  • Distribute documents without the support of an administrative assistant.

MUST HAVE skillsets

  •  Minimum 5 years’ experience estimating and managing industrial electrical projects.
  • All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR and drug test.
  • Estimator should be proficient in the use of the following software:
    • Microsoft office suite, with high level of proficiency using Excel
    • Adobe products
    • Conest Intellibid and SureCount on screen takeoff.
