Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking a Private Duty RN to join our team in a River Oaks home to take care of elderly patient . You will be responsible for the assessment, care and comfort of assigned patient.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer nursing care to elderly and disabled patient with dementia.
  • You will be part of a team where there you will work with a CNA.
  • We are looking for 4 - 5 nurses to fill day time shifts from 7am/7pm Monday - Sunday.
  • You will work with Methodist Internist and Wound Care doctor that comes to the home 2x/week.
  • Monitor and report changes in patient symptoms or behavior
  • Communicate with collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care
  • Educate patients about health maintenance and disease prevention
  • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
  • Maintain accurate patient medical records
  • Alert family of inventory needed to reorder
  • Insure patient is clean at all times
  • Outgoing and sweet demeanor is very important
  • Pleasure and bolus feeding
  • Provide advice, care and emotional support to patient and and update family members
  • FEMALES ONLY

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in nursing or other medical fields
  • Familiarity with medical equipment and hoyer lift
  • Ability to build rapport with patient and CNA/RN team, this is a great environment.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fun and fast-paced environment
