Job DescriptionJob Description

We are looking for a metal shop craftsman to produce one off metal products. We make furniture, chandeliers, kitchen range hoods, signs, art, and metalwork for restaurants. Parts must be square, straight, flat, true, perpendicular, or angled per the drawing packet. We want someone with the Craftsman attitude - Shows up every day trying to learn something new about metal fabrication.

Responsibilities:

  • Drilling, tapping, countersinking, grinding, sawing, and miter cutting.
  • Forming and bending sheet and rolling tube.
  • Finish grinding using manual and power tools and polishing raw metals.
  • Filling, sanding, priming, and painting.
  • Assemble items with fasteners, rivets, adhesives and tools.
  • Follow blueprints to meet product specifications.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, metal working tools.
  • Operating forklift.
  • Keeping work area clean and safe.
  • Deliver/install jobs to customer sites.
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Comfortable in shop environment.
  • Understanding of safety practices.
  • Proficient in basic math including addition/ subtraction of whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
  • Read tape measure and calipers with ease.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Safety boots, non-flammable clothing
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be a team player, be courteous to everyone.
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Physical capacity to stand, bend, and stoop for a full 8hr shift
  • Able to lift 50lb.

Standard hours are M-F 7:00am - 3:30pm with occasional overtime offered. Weekly pay schedule.

Company contribution to medical insurance $200. Dental and Vision insurance available at employee expense.

For residential clients we produce custom range hoods, table bases, chairs, cabinets, sconces, and chandeliers. For Commercial clients we produce bar shelves, foot rails, host stands, and public art. The 4 main materials we work in are steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and brass. We facilitate outside processing for powder coating, anodizing, polishing, and painting from various vendors and provide hardware to complete assemblies. We only produce items per order, and to individual customer specification. We work from architectural prints, mechanical drawings, inspiration pictures of similar items, or hand drawn sketches. We 3D model almost every product we create and provide approval drawings to our clients before any material is cut. Quality, fit, and finish is of the upmost importance.
