Granados Law Group, PLLC is seeking a fully bilingual (Spanish/English) front desk legal assistant to join our growing Cary, NC/Wake County-based criminal defense law firm. Must be organized, punctual, have strong written (spelling/grammar) and verbal communication skills, have a positive and helpful attitude, be a problem-solver and self-sufficient. Strong sales skills are required. You are the first person a prospective client engages when they call the firm and we want them to experience a warm and welcoming reception, creating a positive first impression with exceptional phone etiquette. We also want our current and returning clients to feel comfortable sharing sensitive details about their case with you, fully understanding that issues will be routed to other staff members and escalated to attorneys when appropriate. The ideal candidate is a true team player, capable of maintaining standards of excellence and should work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume setting.

 

Responsibilities include:

1. Primary person to answer phones, so must be friendly, client-oriented, and a problem-solver with strong research skills to assist clients and attorneys.

2. Intake of prospective clients (Contact/Matter creation in Clio), taking detailed notes,

3. Draft & Send client engagement agreements

4. Pull Driving Records

6. Create and prepare new files and draft general court filings like notices of

appearance/requests for discovery utilizing Microsoft Office Suite

7. Update clients after court/send next court date reminders

8. Assist Attorneys with electronic discovery materials

9. Assist attorneys as-needed with phone calls/projects/follow-up with clients, etc.

10. Spanish fluency (reading, writing, and speaking) REQUIRED, and some translation required to assist attorneys with client communications. Must be able to pass a translation proficiency test. Position will require Legal Assistant to learn certain legal concepts and phrases to accurately translate/interpret for attorney(s).

11. Candidate must also have Covid vaccines/vaccine card, as some client visits to the jail require translation services, as the jail requires proof of vaccination.

12. Prior law firm or legal experience preferred, but not required. Must have a passion for criminal defense and helping people, with a strong sense of customer service.
