The Assistant Teacher at Children's Land of Glenview plays a crucial role in supporting the lead teacher in creating a vibrant and nurturing educational environment for early childhood education children. This position requires a passionate educator who can assist in delivering high-quality early childhood education and care, consistent with the philosophy and standards of Children's Land.

Roles and Responsibilities:

•Assist in developing and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans under the guidance of the lead teacher.

•Help monitor and document children's developmental progress, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records.

•Aid in organizing and supervising daily routines, including educational activities, playtime, meals, and rest periods.

•Support the lead teacher in ensuring children's safety by adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.

•Assist in maintaining a clean, orderly, and hygienic classroom environment.

•Engage with parents, providing updates on their child's development and participating in parent-teacher meetings as required.

•Collaborate effectively with the lead teacher and other staff members to promote a harmonious working environment.

•Utilize and contribute to the creation of educational materials and activities that stimulate learning.

•Assist in organizing physical activities that promote the development of children's motor skills.

•Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to continuously improve skills in early childhood education.

Qualifications:

•At least 2 years of experience in working with children.

•Familiarity with DCFS requirements in Illinois.

•CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.

•Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

•Enthusiastic and collaborative team player.

•Patience and a genuine affection for working with young children.

Skills:

•Good observational and assisting skills.

•Creativity in supporting the development of educational materials and activities.

•Effective time management and the ability to assist in various tasks as needed.

•Understanding of child development principles and practices in early childhood education.
