Location: Various locations around Ventura County, California
Employment Type: Part-time (up to 30-40 hours per week), non-exemptPay Rate: $25-$30 per hour 
Position Summary:We are seeking a compassionate, dependable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Driver/Mover. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving moving trucks, assisting with loading and unloading of household items, and towing a dump trailer to landfills. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills. Essential Job Functions:
Driving:
  • Safely operate a 26-foot moving truck for residential relocation services. 
  • Tow a dump trailer with a pickup truck to haul debris, refuse, or other materials to local landfills.
  • Ensure all driving activities comply with state and local regulations.
Moving - Loading, Transporting, and Unloading:
  • Assist with loading, securing, and unloading furniture, appliances, boxes, and other household items.
  •  Protect and safely transport customer belongings, ensuring minimal damage during moves.
  •  Disassemble and reassemble furniture, if necessary.
Customer Service:
  • Interact kindly and professionally with clients, listening to and understanding their concerns with compassion.  
  • Responding positively to client’s needs and ensuring a tailored moving experience.
  •  Communicate with clients regarding the timeline, details, and scope of the relocation.  
Trailer Operations:
  •  Safely attach, load, and transport dump trailers to and from job sites, transfer stations and landfills.
  •  Properly secure loads to ensure safe transport in compliance with weight and safety regulations.
  •  Complete dump runs at local landfills while adhering to environmental and safety policies.
General Maintenance:
  • Perform routine inspections on trucks and trailers, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and lights.
  •  Report any vehicle or equipment issues to management immediately.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • At least 9 years of driving experience in California.  
  • Experience working as a team and within a team.
  • Experience driving a moving truck (Uhaul, Penske, or other)
  • Experience towing trailers or similar equipment.
  • Valid California driver’s license required.
  •  Have integrity, honesty, kindness and compassion. 
  • Physical capabilities to lift and carry heavy items (up to 75 lbs) over extended periods.
  • Ability to work efficiently both within a team and independently.  
  • Familiarity with moving tools (dollies, straps, padding, etc.) and the ability to use them safely.
  •  Knowledge or willingness to learn proper packing and moving techniques and furniture disassembly/reassembly.
  •  Excellent customer service and communication skills.
 Work Environment & Physical Demands:
  • Must be comfortable working in a physically demanding role with frequent lifting and bending.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and various days of the week.
